About
My name is Gregory R. Burrus and I’m a Motion Graphics Animator or Designer (but I like Animator). I recently graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS in Applied Arts and Science with a Professional Concentration in Motion Graphics and New Media. I usually just say Motion Graphics and leave it at that.
Work Experience
I worked for the last 4 years with RIT SportsZone, a unique student run broadcasting show that focuses on sports and other activities in the RIT / Rochester-Henrietta area. It’s broadcasted on the ESPN 2 and Time Warner Cable Sports Net channels. I started working there as a graphic designer in my freshmen year. I was appointed Director of Motion Graphics in my senior year. RITSZ has received numerous broadcasting awards including the College Emmy and a Gold Empixx Award. In addition to broadcast work, I also have experience working directly with clients in the areas of advertising, marketing, and web designing.
Personal Statement
I like to see everything in motion. Even the most ridiculous things can be made to move in some way, shape, or form. When walking past something, I wonder how would I make that move on the screen. When I see a design I like, I want to get my hand on the files to animate it. I strive to create a sense of movement in everything I make and leave nothing static for any length of time.
